BAYERN MUNICH is hoping Leroy Sane will try to get away from Manchester City this summer.
The German giants have not hidden their interest in the signing of former winger Schalke during the low season.
But they are unlikely to respect the value of City, which would probably be in the range of 90 million pounds sterling.
It all depends on whether Sane will sign a new contract at Etihad, while he remains two years to his current contract.
And Bayern's managing director, Karl Heinz Rummenigge, said that they would rush if they had any indication of his intention to return to his native country.
He said: "The player must first decide whether or not he can imagine coming to Bayern.
"If this is the case, we are starting concrete negotiations with Manchester City.
"The player is the most important factor and apparently, Leroy has not yet made a decision.
"I think it's an exciting player, both in regards to his footballing qualities and as a guy."
City hopes Sane will commit to the club's long-term future by signing the new contract this summer.
However, if he does not, the champions would face a dilemma as they knew his value would collapse in 12 months.
Etihad sources say they are unlikely to sign a new left winger if Sane wanted to go – since both Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez can play at once.
