Mahama in mourning Former President John Dramani Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama has asked the party to work hard and win the 2020 elections to pay tribute to former national president ousted, Dr. Kwabena Adjei.

After visiting his former president when he visited his home, Kwabena Adjei did a lot for the party, especially when he presided over the party in the 2008 general election.

"As a party, it will only be necessary to work hard to ensure the victory of the party by 2020," he said.

He also added that the party would meet with the family to give Dr. Kwabena Adjei a burial worthy of the name.

Former National President of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Kwabena Adjei died Tuesday morning at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital Hospital, formerly the Ridge Hospital.

The politician, who was president when the NDC took power in 2008, was facing a prolonged illness reported for the first time in the media in August 2015.

The National Democratic Congress (NEC) declared three days of mourning in honor of its former president, Dr. Kwabena Adjei.

Dr. Adjei died at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital after a short illness in the early hours of Tuesday, March 12, 2019.

In a statement, the party said: "During this period, all party flags must fly at half mast and all party activities must be suspended."

Given this development, the flag bearer's induction ceremony, John Dramani Mahama, which was scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 13, 2019, was postponed to a later date.

Until his death, Mr. Adjei was a member of the party's council of elders, former deputy of Biakoye constituency, former deputy secretary of the PNDC for the Volta region and former deputy secretary of the PNDC for industries, the science and technology.
