Prime Minister A, AshantiGold, defeated the 1-0 Young Division One-Team at Len Clay on Wednesday in their 32 matchups in the Level 2 special competition.
Mark Agyekum opened the scoring with a pbad from Stephen Owusu Banahene four minutes into the second period.
AshantiGold has spoiled many scoring opportunities, especially in the first half, with Banahene being the worst culprit.
In the 16th minute, he was well placed to give the Miners the advantage, but a poor first touch allowed the Apostles to score for a corner.
Two minutes later, Banahene was given another chance, but his close-range shot was out of bounds.
He took advantage of the defensive blunder and sent the fans in expectation of the first goal, but was shocked by the shot.
The second half was the same as that of the Miners who sealed this slim victory to confirm their place in the last 16.
