The popular Breaker Space program meets on the last Thursday of each month at 2 pm at the Fall River Public Library, 104 North Main Street. This monthly technical withdrawal program for all ages could also be called being taken part; break and do; autopsy of apparatus; or deconstruction station. Whatever you call it, it's a fun way for kids and teens (and adults!) To learn how things work, learn science, technology and engineering skills through hands-on exercises . During the school year, the space reserved for breakers takes place on Saturdays, but in July and August, children can practice STEM techniques on Thursday afternoons.
The library provides toys, electronics and appliances and allows children to carefully disbademble objects to see what motivates them. Friends of the Library and our community donors provide tools and protective equipment. Parents are welcome to accompany and supervise their children during the activity.

The Somerset Public Library presents a series of informative and entertaining programs for adults during the month of July. These programs, called July Jaunts, are sponsored by the Friends of Somerset Public Library.
The second program, Monday, July 15 at 18:00, is Laughter is the best remedy, interpreted by Robert Rivest. Through mime and physical comedy, Rivest transforms everyday situations into hysterically amusing experiences.
During the third week of the month, July 22 at 6 pm, Vineyard Manager, Jodi Frank, and winemaker, Peter Wronski, from IronVines Vinyard, will discuss winemaking at home. Learn how to grow and harvest your own grapes and the essentials for making your wine.
Finally, on Monday, July 29 at 6 pm, join actress and historian Carol Cohen for An Evening with Eleanor Roosevelt. Cohen will highlight the life and achievements of the former First Lady in an engaging presentation and representation. These programs are free and open to all adults. No registration is required.

Programming for children
The legos at the library are held every Monday from 15:30 to 17:00. Bring your imagination and your creativity. Legos provided for all ages, including Duplos for younger children.
Tiny Time with Ms. Christine is held every Tuesday at 10:30 in the room of children 3 years old and under. Enjoy songs, moves, activities, nursery rhymes, books and recess.
The Write Club, a creative writing club for 8-12 year olds, meets every Tuesday at 4pm. in the junior room. Boys and girls of Grade 3, 4 or 5 who like to write are welcome to attend! This is your chance to get creative and improve your writing skills through fun activities, including fun writing prompts, group stories, writing games, and more.
Free Fridays are back at the library. Stop for a free game play from 10:15 to 11:15 and discover the train table, the fun dollhouse, the magic of cooking and toys. After Play Time, join the Kids Coloring Club from 11:30 to 12:30. Coloring and markers, pencils and pencils provided. Fun with Letters is from 12:30 to 13:00. Do fun activities and craft with letters. The preschool DIY lab, from 1 pm to 2 am, is a good time for creativity and exploration. Children are natural handymen. They experiment, explore, test and play, and they learn a lot about problem solving through practical questions and experiences. Children will learn to explore the world using DIY kits and materials that promote expression and imagination through art and crafts. Little Ones board games and puzzles from 2pm to 3pm allows kids to play one of the board games in our collection or bring in his own. Board games are fun for the whole family and teach children important social skills, reasoning and logic, eye-hand coordination, spelling and math. Adult programs
The adult coloring club is a relaxing way to start the week. Find your inner artist using pens, pencils and many other coloring pages. We provide the material or you can bring your own. The coloring club is held every Monday from 12h to 22h.
Every Tuesday is a family story from 12h to 14h. with the Tuesday club. Work on your family history using library resources, including Ancestry.com. Help is always available if you are working on a brick wall. Use Helen Pierce's local genealogy and history room for research purposes.
Every Wednesday are Crafternoons from 12h to 14h. The first Wednesday of every month is card making at the library. The 2nd Wednesday is the day of the needle, bring a project you are working on or try one of ours. Embroidery, cross-stitching, hanging carpets or other handicrafts. The 3rd Wednesday of the month is the day of cutting. Bring any paper to cut our spring themed cutouts for cards or scrapbooking. The fourth Wednesday is Pinterest's craft day. Supplies provided.
Every Thursday, the Swansea Knitters meet from 12h to 22h. Knitters of all levels are invited to join this group of friends.
The first Friday of every month is Quilting 101 with Diane Preble. Interested in learning to quilter? Work on a project in progress? If you have always wanted to learn how to use the quilt but you have not had the chance to do so, join this clbad. Beginners are encouraged to attend.

The Recipe and Coupon Club at the Swansea Public Library is back at 2:00 pm on Thursday afternoon. Join the frugal gourmands as they plan upcoming events, discuss new cookbooks and share recipes and tips. Each month, they will focus on the cookbooks of different chefs. June's head is Alice Waters. We will learn how to cook with local and organic fruits and vegetables. June is the month of fruits and vegetables. New club members are always welcome.
Adult reading club
The Swansea Sleuth Mystery Book Club meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 6 pm in the reference room. Past, the historical fiction reading club meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 7 pm. The YA for Grownups Reading Club meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 6 pm in the reference room, followed by the illustrated adult novel at 7 pm The Brown Bag Fiction Reading Club meets on the third Friday of each month at noon in the Reference Room. Books at the beach all ages on Mondays from 10:30 am to noon at Grinnell's Beach Shade Pavilion. Grab your beach bag and join Lib and Deb Librarians at Grinnell's Beach for gifts, stories and silly activity on the sand. This program depends on the weather.

Fiddle N 'Fun for Kids 3+, Thursday, July 18th at 11am. The number of places is limited. Tickets will be distributed on a first come, first half hour basis before the show time. Join this interactive music clbad and learn how to play Fiddlestix, a stringed instrument that has proven to prepare young musicians for violin learning.
Starry Starry Night for children from 2nd to 5th grade. Friday, July 19th from 10:30 am to 12 pm Work as a team to create a collaborative art sticker for the children's room. Today's masterpiece is based on Van Gogh's Starry Night.
Man on the Moon for children ages 5 and over on Saturday, July 20th from 11am to 12.30pm. Join the library to celebrate the 50th anniversary of NASA's Apollo 11 lunar mission with a variety of fun activities.
Encoding robots, for children entering 3rd – 5th grade on Thursday, July 25th at 3pm. Space is limited; registration required. Join MobileQuest, an IRAM-based STEAM training team, at the library this afternoon and discover how to code an extraterrestrial robot.
Sharks steal the show for kids ages 3 and up on Friday, July 26, all day. Enjoy a day of fun on the theme of sharks.

The Friends of Westport Library accepts donations of books, CDs and DVDs for the summer paperback sale and the annual big book sale in September. Please, books in good condition only, and no textbooks, law books, medical books, encyclopedias, dictionaries, VHS tapes or cbadettes. A gift box will be located in the library lobby, located at 408 Old County Road, until August 30th.
