Students from Lander Elementary School in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, form a remarkably energetic group, as they demonstrated in a viral video last week. Today, however, their enthusiasm has rocked into a joyous and invigorating madness thanks to a surprise show by rapper Lil Nas X.
Last week, the school's director encouraged children to socialize by tweeting a video clip in which they sang, in a dynamic way, his hit song Old Town Road.
Lil Nas X saw the infectious clip and was inevitably moved. He made a generous offer:

Felecia Evans, the director, invited the musician, but kept the plan "totally secret", she told BuzzFeed.
Lil Nas X appeared in the school gymnasium after a magic show, causing children's cheers, on par with the Beatlemania, or perhaps a nuclear explosion. The real magic, however, came when the rapper and the children raised their voices together in song. Complex magazine captured the results in an equally moving and hilarious video, showing both the power of music and the level of decibel that can reach a room filled with little people who make fun of what you think.
In addition, wow, these kids really know the words.
