Line of Duty star Adrian Dunbar was approached by music bosses to record her debut album later this year.
Actor 60, performer of the popular character, Superintendent Ted Hastings in Line Of Duty, played in bands many years ago singing choruses.
"I've never had the opportunity to do that because I started playing and concentrating on other things," he said.
"But I've always kept that and I've always done concerts with friends to Ronnie Scott's over the years," he says.
"It's really country jazz. I like the stuff that straddles the easy-listening genre of jazz country. "
Ted also hopes that he will be touring the UK once he has finished his album.
"I had done some concerts before, I had a band a few years ago and we used to do a lot of gigs around the place, it was very We did a lot of gigs around Bundoran, all the guys, band members came from this area, "he says.
"We used to do a lot of gigs in and around and from time to time we would go to Belfast and do some shows, so let's hope we can meet again, you know?"
Ted recently sang live on the Irish talk show The Late Late Show proving his singing talent. Dunbar played "What A Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong, interviewing fans on Twitter.
"Wow! Adrian Dunbar and his hidden talent – what a crooner I adore!" Wrote a fan.
Do not worry, Ted's musical career will not interfere with his role in Line of Duty. He is scheduled to begin filming the sixth series with co-star Vicky McClure in February.
The "gaffer" will focus on his musical career until then.
