Ole Gunnar Solskjaer named four things that make Jesse Lingard a "fantastic" Manchester United player.

Lingard is one of United's top performers since Solskjaer was named interim manager in December.

The 26-year-old scored three goals and helped out twice on six with the Norwegian and scored in the 3-1 win over Arsenal.

After being described as "a great example of all that is wrong with Manchester United" by Paul Ince last monthSolskjaer called Lingard "knowing this club".

"Jesse has energy, a strong iron around him," he says.

"He can play in different positions. in a midfield three, in front, on each side [wing]and he knows this club.

"Sometimes at workout, you see him and Marcus bonding with Mason, Chongy and the younger kids. It's nice to watch.

"When he made his debut with me on the reserves, against Burnley's reserves, he was a toddler. He was playing only because he had not been selected for an FA Cup match the day before.

"I'm so happy for him. its development has been fantastic.
