The FC Barcelona club striker and five-time Golden Ball winner Lionel Messi has revealed one of the biggest critics of his career and his answer might surprise more than one.
The 31-year-old is at the top of the list of top scorers in the top five European leagues after defeating his 19th campaign scorer in the 2-0 win against the LaLiga Minnows.
Although widely regarded as the greatest footballer of all time, Messi revealed that his actions on the ground are increasingly watched over by his son, Tiago.
"[He] understands more football because it's the biggest [of his children] and he talks about everything related to football, "Messi was quoted as saying World football.
"I've already had some criticism on his part! Barcelona, LaLiga, the Champions League … he follows everything.He likes that, he asks questions and gives me guidance when things do not happen if well."
The Argentine international, who had previously admitted that he did not like to badyze the lost matches, revealed that he had had to change his position because of his son's interest for his career.
"It's no longer like that now, it's always hard to manage losses and poor performance.
"But Thiago forces me to talk about what happened and why we did not win, now we are talking a lot more."
Messi has made 25 appearances, scoring 26 goals, while attending 15 more of the 25 matches he has played, all competitions for Barcelona so far this season.
