YEN.com.gh presents the 5 best cities in the world in 2021 that have been able to ensure higher safety indicators in the areas of infrastructure, personal safety, digital life, health, etc.
It should be noted that this index of the safest cities has arrived and recently published by the Economist Intelligence Unit.
1. Copenhagen
At the top of this list is the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen.

According to the BBC, the country has implemented a massive COVID-19 testing program that is free to all of its citizens as well as tourists.

With good scores in infrastructure and environmental safety, Toronto comes second on the list of the world’s safest cities after a pandemic.
Canada’s largest city also owes its high level of safety to the community-specific vaccination programs that have been introduced.
3. Singapore
Singapore in Asia is closing in on third place. The country has its strengths in its digital values, health and infrastructure.
Set at 80%, the country also has one of the highest vaccination rates in the world and yet has not slowed down its strict surveillance and contact tracing in the face of new variants.
4. Sidney
Ranked number one in digital security, Australia’s largest city comes in fourth.

An interesting thing about its digital security is its Smart City policy framework which outlines some of the innovations recommended for more connected and safer cities.
The country with one of the lowest COVID-19 per capita death rates in the world was one of the first countries to completely close its borders during the pandemic and has not bowed to its strict lockdown since.
5. Tokyo
In fifth place is the Japanese city of Tokyo. Its transport safety, pedestrian friendliness and transport networks have placed it in the top five in terms of infrastructure safety.
It is said that vaccination has reached almost 60% of the population.
