Listeria Warning: Eat Smart Dining Bags Recall

There is a food recall today and Newfoundland and Labrador is one of the affected provinces.

According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), some Sweet Kale brand Eat Smart vegetable salad bags are being recalled due to possible contamination with Listeria bacteria.

The affected product was sold in Newfoundland and Labrador, Ontario, New Brunswick and possibly in other provinces, in 340 gram packaging with an expiry date of February 16, 2019.

Consumers are encouraged to discard the product or bring it back to the store where it was purchased.

The CFIA has stated that no diseases related to salad bags have been reported.

In severe cases, the infection can be fatal.
