The cream of Australian cricket talent will participate in a gala under a new look at the Crown Casino Melbourne tonight. The Australian Cricket Awards are being presented by Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketers' Association, and the event tonight will be broadcast live on 7mate and FOX Cricket starting at 7pm.

8:25 p.m.: Sydney Sixers captain and NSW Blues drummer Moises Henriques was named the first Community Champion of the Australian Cricket Awards for his work in raising awareness of mental health issues. Henriques opened his mental health battles earlier this year, and you can find out more about it. RIGHT HERE. He described his breakthroughs in health and community work as "the most rewarding thing I've ever done".
8:10 p.m.: The former captain of the event, Kim Hughes, speaks after receiving the award for Dean Jones who has been inducted into the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame. 16h: Formerly known as the Allan Border Medal, the Gala was renamed "Australian Cricket Awards" to reflect the growing popularity and importance of female cricket and award the same prize at best prices: the AB Medal for Best Player cricket, all sizes. and Belinda Clark Award for the best player.
Two new awards are scheduled for 2019, with the ODI and T20 year players being named for the first time. A community champion will also be honored to pay tribute to the excellent work being done at the grbadroots level across the country. .
This year, three legends will be inducted into the Australian Cricket Hall of Fame. Dean Jones, Billy Murdoch and Cathryn Fitzpatrick will all be honored.
Fitzpatrick played 109 ODI for Australia during a 15-year career, as well as 13 tests for Australia and then for the national coach, all during a time when the players cricket still held full-time jobs outside of cricket and where women's football did not receive the same attention as today.
While Fitzpatrick was known for his exploits with the ball, Murdoch and Jones will be remembered for their efforts with the bat after the duo forged beautiful individual careers at very different times.
Murdoch was captain of Australia in 16 test matches between 1880 and 1890, with scores of 153 at 210 and 210 at The Oval in 1882 and 1884 among his largest shares.
Jones was even more prolific, the Victorian finishing his career with an average of 46.55 total, highlighted by a brilliant 210 in stifling conditions during the memorable draw against India in Madras in 1986.
He also helped to change the one – day game with his aggressive stick in the 1980s and played an important role in the success of the Australian World Cup campaign in 1987.
