Live Commentary: Tranmere Rovers 0-6 Liverpool – As It Happened

GOAL! TRANMERE 0-2 LIVERPOOL (RHIAN BREWSTER)

SAVE! Blackett-Taylor was Tranmere's star player in that first half. The summer signing advances the ball and allows Mignolet to make a shot on goal from a distance of more than 25 meters, in a routine manner.

Liverpool seems rather happy to hear the whistle at halftime. It was a good race for them; a good way to prepare for a long campaign. The visitors hit the ball in their half for the moment.

Liverpool scores a third goal of what is surely the last significant action of the first half. Milner's 20-yard shot is defeated by Davies and Brewster reacts as quickly as possible by returning him to the net.

HALF-TIME: TRANMERE 0-3 LIVERPOOL

Liverpool takes a good 3-0 lead in half with a Brewster double after Clyne gave the team a quick lead. The first half of the Reds XI can be satisfied with his efforts at Prenton Park.

START: Tranmere takes us back to Prenton Park during this first friendly meeting for Liverpool. Origi will be the skipper of the Reds in the second half after signing a new long-term contract with the club.

Liverpool continue to play with their opponents. The game became incredibly open in the minute that led to the Reds' fifth goal, but normal service has since resumed. The acrobatic shot from Woodburn pbades over the crossbar.

Klopp will undoubtedly want his team to continue and score a sixth, seventh and eighth goal before the end of the match. The Reds looked very good tonight, scoring just about every chance they created.

GOAL! TRANMERE 0-6 LIVERPOOL (BOBBY DUNCAN)

Hoever fought his way past two defenders and the ball went to Duncan, who made a pbad close to the goal with another single finish on his first senior outing for Liverpool. Terrible defend from Tranmere!

CANCELED OBJECT! Walker-Rice has the ball behind the net for Tranmere but he is excluded for offside. The reruns show that he was offside, so it was a good call from the officials. On the other end of the line, Woodburn is unable to pick a teammate after working hard.

Glatzel lands awkwardly when you jump for the ball and the physio is necessary. Liverpool has a sub-referee on the bench, but since he is a goalkeeper, he will have to call one of the players who made the move at the end of the first half.

It seems that Dan Atherton, a goalkeeper, will play for Glatzel. Klopp clearly does not want to risk one of his field-field players, who have all played 45 minutes before. Tranmere is starting to see more ball, mainly because Liverpool allows it.

Liverpool may be forgiven for having reviewed the motions at this stage. There remains less than 10 minutes of regulation time and referee Mike Dean – a Tranmere fan – will probably add nothing in the end. Some brave defenders of Woods prevent a seventh goal.

Atherton grabbed Woods in the back of the head as he defended the center to the back post, causing a new stoppage of play. Tranmere boss, Micky Mellon, will be happy about that – we're still a minute closer to full time!

Origi is another good touch: you have the impression that he will play an important role this season. We're in the last five minutes at Prenton Park and there does not seem to be another goal – the last famous words, maybe?

Woodburn plays the ball in the box and Atherton goes almost to the end. What a story it would be if the third-choice goalkeeper scored. The Reds are looking for the most likely chances of both teams to score the next goal of what has been a one-sided match.

We are in the last 60 seconds or so now. Tranmere had a goal rightly dismissed and a few shots remained behind on either side of the half, but there is no doubt that they were completely outclbaded by their Premier League opponents today.
