WWE Worlds Collide Results
February 2, 2019
Phoenix, AZ
The entire WWE Worlds Collide tournament, which features the stars of NXT, NXT UK and 205 Live, was pre-recorded at Royal Rumble Axxess events last weekend in Phoenix, AZ. The first series is aired today on all WWE social media platforms (see above) and resulted in a two hour special WWE show tonight at 8am / 7am.
DREW GULAK (205 Live) against MARK ANDREWS (NXT UK)
Andrews is there to party and Gulak is there to spoil everyone's good time. They had a short, very technical match in which Gulak forced his opponent to play his game, keeping things grounded and applying as many stretches and restraints as possible. Andrews finally had a good sprint, hitting a springboard crossbody in a double step forward, in a standing Corkscrew Splash, but that was not enough. The finish gave rise to a good exchange of combinations, Gulak opposing an inverted Rana to a Dragon Sleeper and throwing himself in the fall.
Winner: Drew Gulak
TRAVIS BANKS (NXT UK) vs. KEITH LEE (NXT)
Lee quickly destroyed his opponent with huge chops that slapped through the arena, and giant throws just intimidated him around the ring. Banks defended himself as best he could and connected with a suicide plunge, in a flurry of violent strikes, but Lee pulled him out of the sky with the Super Nova for quick victory.
Winner: Keith Lee
ADAM COLE (NXT) vs SHANE THORNE (NXT)
Thorne came out with a shirt saying "the worst". In fact, he controlled much of the first attack by playing the stub, as it was impossible for the Axxess crowd to shame Adam Cole against him. He worked all the time on Cole's elbow, creating a separate wound that prevented his opponent from creating too much momentum when he had to fight on one arm. Cole finally bounced back with a superkick, elbows from his good arm and a kicking dropkick. Thorne dodged the shining magician and reached a huge suplex back, trying to stay hooked, but Cole caught him with another superkick. This time, the Shining Wizard is connected, and it is finished.
Winner: Adam Cole
