Liverpool has advised to sell the hero of the Champions League this summer for a controversial reason
Former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol said the Reds should sell Champions League hero Divock Origi because he "does not make the team better".
Origi had only been appearing for Liverpool last season, but had made incredibly important contributions.
Speaking on ESPN, Nicol said, "For the sake of Liverpool, they should get rid of him, let him go, it depends on the severity with which you want to say it.
"He has to go for his good, but for the sake of Liverpool, they have put themselves in a place where they have to think: 'how are we going to go to the next stage?' "
"And for me, going to the next step is to make the band better and bigger. I do not think Divock Origi improves our team.
"Whenever he played, whenever he started, usually for Firmino to give him a break, the level went down too much in my opinion. That's why, ultimately, they must get rid of him.
"We will remember him forever, one day, not only for the goal of the Champions League in the final, but also for that against Barcelona and against Everton.
"We'll remember him, but unfortunately, as a player, he's just not good enough to play the level that Liverpool has to reach every time he gets on the pitch."
