Kotoko must beat Zesco in Zambia to advance in the competition
Hello, good afternoon and welcome to our live news on the crucial match of the last group of the Confederation Cup of CAF between Asante Kotoko and Zambia, ZESCO United.
Asante Kotoko has a lot of work to do in the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederations Cup.
The Porcupine Warriors will have to win their last group match against ZESCO United this afternoon in Zambia to qualify after missing an opportunity to do so in their penultimate game against Al Hilal in Kumasi last Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors would have qualified if they beat Al Hilal in Sunday's match against Baba Yara Stadium.
Instead, the Sudanese club held the Porcupine Warriors to a 1-1 draw.
Asante Kotoko must now beat ZESCO United in their last group match to qualify.
The badistant head coach of Akakpo Patron's team is very optimistic: his team will be victorious against ZESCO United: "We will take the score in good faith. Our destiny is now in our hands, so we must motivate the guys before we go to Zambia to win, "he told Happy FM.
"Zesco United can not qualify, so we have to go and beat them to qualify. It's a must for us and we will win. Beat them is possible, "he added.
The team's deputy captain, Felix Annan, believes that a miracle could happen in their last game against ZESCO United and he urges supporters not to give up.
"Disappointed but not down! Not the results we wanted! Difficult game that Hilal has offered us! The hope is still alive! It was not over until it was over, the fans were huge again, "he said on his twitter account.
The game starts at 16:00 GMT.
