Liverpool badistant coach Pep Lijnders admitted that the Reds would be interested in Ruben Neves.
The Portuguese midfielder has a fantastic first season in the Premier League with the Wolves.
Neves joined the Wolves for a club record of £ 15.8m in the summer of 2017, but the Molineux club will probably more than triple that of its services.
Lijnders worked with the 22-year-old during his stay in Porto and admits it would be interesting for Liverpool this summer.
"I know him very well, his ambition, his pbadion for football, his professionalism," Lijnders told O Jogo, questioned about his relationship with Neves.
"I know what he gives to the team and this type of player still interests us.
"I recognized him when I saw him at Wolves, I saw the technique, the professionalism, I saw the 2013-14 player I knew."
Neves has also been on the radar of Manchester City and Arsenal, while Juventus keeps an eye on the situation.
He signed a new five-year contract before the start of the campaign and his boss, Nuno Espirito Santo, sees it as an essential part of his plans.
The wolves remain eighth in the Premier League and still hope for a European qualification.
Nuno will be after a response from his players as they return to action in Southampton on Saturday.
The Wolves led Watford 2-0 in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley last weekend, but were caught before Gerard Deulofeu's spectacular overtime winner.
