The hero of LIVERPOOL, the champion of the Champions League, Divock Origi, has promised his future to the Anfield club by signing a long-term contract.
Belgian striker Origi, who scored Tottenham's goal in last month's European final, signed the new contract on Wednesday.
Aged 24, he insists that he was still waiting to stay in Merseyside.
Origi told the Liverpool official website: "Yes, I am very happy to be able to sign this contract and it gives you a boost at the beginning of the season, as well as the end of last season.
"I have been taking steps during my career, I say that I became a man here in this club, I signed when I was 19 years old.
"When we had to make that decision, I just wanted to talk to the club and my entourage first, but I always felt that I wanted to stay and extend my contract."
Origi is with the Reds since the signing of Lille for 10 million pounds in 2014.
After his five-year contract ended in failure, the fans hoped the striker would stay at the club after his heroic exploits last season.
Origi hit twice to knock out Barcelona and then scored the crucial goal of sealing the win against the Spurs in the final.
Manager Jurgen Klopp said on the club's website: "I really think it's a win-win situation, it's a story that only football can write.
"Fortunately, we had enough time to wait for him to be ready again.
"He's this fantastic player again, so it's great to have him and I'm really happy with the signing."
