Liverpool has announced the signing of Fulham winger Harvey Elliott for an undisclosed amount.

The English youth international becomes the Reds' second rookie of the summer following the arrival of defender Sepp van den Berg earlier this month.

Elliott holds the record for the youngest junior player in the Premier League after his appearance against the Wolves last season when he was only 16 years and 30 days old.

He made three appearances for the Cottagers during the 2018/19 campaign and aroused the interest of personalities such as Real Madrid and RB Leipzig.

But Liverpool won the race for his signature and the 16-year-old will now join the team for his pre-season match against Napoli on Sunday.

Fulham's boss, Scott Parker, is no doubt that the teenager will continue to be a top player.

"He's a gifted football player in techniques," he said earlier this year. "A special talent. He has a naturalness, an ease.

"He is very clean with the ball, can handle the ball very well for such a young player.

Liverpool agrees to sign Dutch lord Sepp van den Berg from PEC Zwolle

"Harvey has played his entire career with kids his age and it's probably the first time he's playing against men.

"You often find that the transition is very difficult for young players.

"But with him, you would not know it and that's probably the sign of a leading player or someone who has the ability to be a leading player, because the transition he made went very smoothly. "
