Liverpool fans have voted for a week on the best goal scored by the Reds at Anfield in the Premier League – and we now have a winner.

Roberto Firmino has scored the 1,000th goal of a Reds player on his home soil since the major brand change in 1992/93, in the win against Crystal Palace.

Over the years, incredible and memorable strikes have taken place at the stadium. So we decided to determine which of these days was the best for fans.

That's Anfield Polls were conducted on Twitter to allow supporters to vote after selecting 32 finalists.

Divided into eight groups of four, fans were invited to choose their favorite from each quartet of strikes, with categories such as "scandalous long distances", "vital strikes" and "remarkable technique".

Judging by the early discussions on social media and the time that has elapsed since some of the goals were inscribed and still talked about, we expected a few favorites in particular.

Robbie Fowler's staggering efforts against Aston Villa in 1996 seemed like a resounding success for many, but they ended up in second place in Group A and suffered a premature elimination.

Likewise, Fernando Torres' incredible volley against Blackburn Rovers is often cited as the all-time goal, but she suffered a surprising quarter-final defeat.

In the end, two iconic legends of Liverpool contested the final, with Steven Gerrard"Long-range missile against Manchester United from 2001, the first option …

… And the exquisite lob of Luis Suarez, the first in a series of four goals against the misfortune city of Norwich in 2013, the second.

More than 20,000 votes were cast during the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final, and the former skipper and No. 8 won the match.

Others, including the winner of the Merseyside Derby at Divock Origi and Mohamed Salah's solo race against Tottenham, surprisingly performed well in our #LFCWorldCup, suggesting perhaps some recency bias was affecting some of decision making.

Of course, it is also possible that favoritism towards some players over others was a factor – although some might say that the scoring player has a significant influence on what it means for some fans. .

Some strikes, including Stan Collymore, 4-3 late in the game against Newcastle, John Arne Riise's fierce free kick against Man United, the aforementioned Torres goal and Gerrard's brilliant volley against Middlesbrough, did not go so far in the tournament. as much predicted.
