Liverpool fears losing Jurgen Klopp as German clinches new deal in the face of burnout concerns – The Sun

LIVERPOOL fears that Jurgen Klopp's burnout is preventing the German boss from signing a long-term contract.

The German earns around £ 7m a year – and that salary could go up by £ 3m after the Fenway Sports Group owners have made their mark on the Champions League win last month.

The owners of Fenway Sports Group would like Klopp to sign another £ 60m six-year contract to guard against any ambush by their major European rivals.

But Klopp attaches much more importance to his health than to money and that is why it takes so long to make a decision.

Klopp plans to leave before the end of the contract that he signed a year after replacing Brendan Rodgers in 2015.

But he left Dortmund in search of a break and could suffer the same seven years of itching that also saw him leave Mainz after the same period.

He will be at Anfield for seven years until 2022 and the FSG fears that the more Klopp succeeds, the more it attracts to attract the interested parties.

He insisted that his declared interest in Juventus and Real Madrid before the clubs included Maurizio Sarri and Zinedine Zidane, respectively, was "torrid".

Yet his reputation as a master trainer has soared since the reconstruction of Liverpool, leading the club to win a sixth success in the Champions League, but also to win the title of 97 points last season.

Klopp remains on a mission to restore the wait for 29 years in Liverpool to become the king of England again.

But it takes a worrying time to consider its long-term options.
