Liverpool gave the game a big advantage against Chelsea, Leicester City and the top four rivals

Liverpool moved up to sixth in the Premier League table on Monday night with a 1-0 win over Wolves.

Diogo Jota’s first-half goal got three points at Molineux, giving Jurgen Klopp’s men a boost in their hopes of winning Champions League football.

Those prospects were bolstered by West Ham’s loss to Manchester United, while Everton also lost to Burnley at home.

Chelsea remain the team to catch up in fourth place, with Thomas Tuchel still undefeated since arriving at Stamford Bridge at the end of January.

Liverpool have nine games to recoup a five-point deficit over their rivals and with that in mind, here’s a look at the fixtures lists.

Verdict

Compared to their first four rivals, Liverpool appear to have the easiest streak left.

The Reds will face just one top-eight team in their last nine games away from Manchester United.

In contrast, all other teams will play at least three teams in the top eight, which bodes well for Liverpool as their rivals are hypothetically set to drop points.

Leicester City have the worst course, Manchester City, West Ham, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham to follow over the next two months.

Everton also have a tough line-up with four of the top eight left to play, Chelsea, Tottenham and West Ham against three.
