Liverpool would be interested in the re-election of Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona, according to reports.
Liverpool landed Coutinho in Barcelona in January 2018, the Brazilian international settling at Nou Camp for a transfer of 142 million pounds.
At the time, many expected the star of Samba to be a resounding success considering his performance in the Premier League.
But Coutinho has suffered since leaving Liverpool, fighting for form in Barcelona, while his former club has won the Champions League trophy.
Given the difficulties encountered by the playmaker, there was talk of a departure from Catalonia this summer.
And the Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo said that Liverpool was interested in a new player's signature.
Coutinho's preference would be to return to England this summer when PSG was aiming to reach it in the form of an exchange with Neymar.
He has excluded Manchester United because they are not competing in the Champions League.
And a move to Chelsea has also been dropped due to the ban imposed by the Blues.
The report says however that Liverpool will not blow the bank to bring Coutinho back to Merseyside.
They are reluctant to shell out an amount similar to that sold to the player nearly 18 months ago.
And how the future of Coutinho is played remains to be seen.
If Barcelona lands on Neymar and Antoine Griezmann, it seems unlikely that he will get the necessary time.
