The defender of Seville, Joris Gnagnon, apologized publicly for his aggression against Ybader Larouci in Liverpool, which he described as "odious act".
The two teams met on Sunday in a friendly match at Fenway Park, Boston, which ended in a 2-1 win for the Spanish team, but that is the kick off Gnagnon to Larouci who was the main topic of discussion.
Larouci was running with the ball into Sevilla's midfield in the 76th minute when the Frenchman hit him with an ankle up to the shin.
Gnagnon then highlighted the ground, apparently signaling a fault that he believed he had committed by Dejan Lovren a few minutes earlier.
The 22-year-old has since apologized for his actions, posted on Sevilla's Twitter page.
"I want to publicly apologize to Liverpool, the player's family and his supporters," wrote Gnagnon.
"It was a heinous act on my part for whatever reason and should not be seen on a football pitch.
"All my prayers go to the player and the family."

La Liga also said: "Everyone at Sevilla FC wishes Ybader Larouci a full and quick recovery after tonight's match."
Jurgen Klopp thinks his 18-year-old has been "lucky" to avoid serious injury, although it's still too early to know how bad the damage was done.
"[It’s] much too early in the season to make headlines by saying what I think of the situation, "said the German after the match.
"In general, I do not like games that are too difficult. The challenge is there to win the ball, that's the only reason. There are rules.
"I do not want to say anything specific about this game because there will be headlines, I still want to spend holidays in Spain.
"Let me tell you what is the situation with Ybader; it looks like he's been lucky, but of course, as is always the case with these things, we have to wait a bit.

"He could not keep playing, so that's the first sign that's not so good, but in the locker room it was good, [Wilson].
"Harry got a jaw shot and a finger to the eye, so not too cool. He should also be fine but could not continue. This is the situation. "
Sevilla won the match 2-1 thanks to a late winner of Alejandro Pozo. Nolito had opened the scoring for the Spaniards before a Divock Origi equalizer.
