Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has ominous predictions about Maurizio Sarri's tenure as Chelsea's head coach.
The Italian tactician had succeeded his compatriot Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge only last July, but he was put under pressure following poor performance and performance of his players last month.
Losing the London derbies against Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal is never acceptable among the fans.
Neither is humbled 4-0 at Bournemouth earlier in the week.
This posting at Vitality Stadium was undoubtedly the lowest point of his time as the Blues head coach and his fury was summed up by the fact that he had left his players in the locker room for 45 minutes. minutes after the match before finally speaking to the media.
At the post-game press conference, Sarri had hinted that the result was due to the fact that he could not motivate his team.
The aftermath of his comments have provoked a debate among supporters and experts on the future of the Italian and Carragher, who believes that this defender should be worried.
"Maurizio Sarri seems to be on a thin ice in Chelsea, he has already reached a point where it would be amazing that he's in charge of Stamford Bridge next season," wrote Carragher in his Telegraph column.
"It would be ridiculous nowhere else, not in Chelsea, they are the very embodiment of the cruelty of the Premier League, dismissing leaders after their first bad luck.
"In view of Sarri's recent results, performances and public commentary, history tells us that the Italian should be worried.
"His first year in England recalls that of Luiz Felipe Scolari and André Villas-Boas rather than José Mourinho and Antonio Conte.Only Roman Abramovich's nominations, only Villas-Boas won fewer points than Sarri in his first 24 matches of championship.
"The 4-0 defeat at Bournemouth is a result where it's necessary to check if the reality is real. You do not expect a club of the stature of Chelsea that capitulates in such an embarrbading way.It was their worst defeat in the league since 1996, fueling the perception of the players.
"Although the national cups can be a consolation, it's not a salute for Conte when he wins the FA Cup.
"Chelsea applies the most brutal economic model in England, which is not to the liking of those who believe that managers deserve more than a season to create a team identity, but it works."
"No English club has won more in the last 10 years.
"A boom and bust culture at Stamford Bridge means that Mourinho directors Carlo Ancelotti and Conte, who won the title, lose their jobs one year after their triumph, while Guus Hiddink, Rafa Benitez and Roberto Di Matteo win trophies after being qualified late.
"Whenever Chelsea has tried to change his football style, especially under Scolari and Villas-Boas, Sarri is the last to have brought the team in a different direction: to make Chelsea more like Barcelona and Manchester City than the winners of the title of Mourinho and Conte.
"He's having similar problems."
