Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur both qualified for the Champions League semi-finals on Wednesday, but could have more things in common in July.
This is because Liverpool would have asked to play at least one home match at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Spurs finally played their first game on their home ground, built on the White Hart Lane site earlier this month, as a result of construction delays and security announcements.
Judging by their track record on the local pitch, it was worth the wait. Tottenham won all three of the first three games of the competition, scoring seven goals and not conceding any.
Manchester City were part of the teams to beat in the new Spurs stadium in the first leg of the Champions League as Mauricio Pochettino's team won on away goals after a 4-3 thriller at Etihad Stadium.
The stadium was already ready to welcome other sports teams after the signing of an agreement on the organization of NFL games in Tottenham.
The Spurs will host the Chicago Bears and Oakland Raiders on October 6th.
But it seems that Liverpool could also organize a friendly match at the end of July. Napoli should be his opponent this summer, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The team of Jurgen Klopp is looking for a place because the field at Anfield will not be ready until the month of August because of three concerts. The Take That, Bon Jovi and Pink concerts will all make the trip to Merseyside.
Liverpool would be in discussion with the Spurs to arrange a meeting in the capital at the 62,062-seat stadium, which again surpbades Anfield (54,074 places).
Tottenham has been approached for comments.
