Alisson revealed that he had spoken to Roberto Firmino and other Liverpool players before joining the Premier League club from Roma.

Liverpool recruited the Brazilian goalkeeper last year for a summer transfer of 65 million pounds. He has since become one of the biggest stars in Anfield.

The 26-year-old has had an excellent season, dropping only 19 goals in 32 Premier League games, while the Reds have risen to the top of the table.

Alisson is now considered one of the best shooting cutters in the world and has revealed the advice he received from Firmino and other Liverpool stars before his move.

"I talked to Roberto and others before I came here and they told me about the British and the very organized nature of the population," Alisson told Liverpool's official website.

"He explained to me how things were going in the club and that the focus was on football, so there was not too much mystery.

"It's a very good life with a very good team. For me, it was an important step in my career.

"We can describe the club as a family with some differences because we do not fight too much, less than a lot of families and that's a good thing!"

Alisson has already kept 17 white sheets in the league this season and is lucky to be able to play alongside PFA title player Virgil van Dijk.

"It's great to play with him and all my teammates," said the Brazilian international.

'Van Dijk is a very important player for our team and his style of play gives us consistency, we defend high balls, corners and kicks.

"I have great protection in front of me at Virgil and Joel (Matip) and other defenders like Dejan (Lovren) and side defenders have also been very important.

"Sometimes we take risks because we are a team that likes to come back from behind, starting with the goalkeeper.

"It makes a difference for our team because when you start from the back with good quality, the ball goes to the best players with better quality and puts the attackers in a better position.

"I know I have to work hard every day because I'm part of a big club that has big plans and big goals. I must take this responsibility and take care of it. "
