Liverpool player standings – Andy Robertson shining with Virgil van Dijk against Spurs

[ad_1]

Liverpool has maintained its Premier League title challenge alive with a late winner against Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.

The Reds took advantage through Roberto Firmino in the first period when he connected with a magnificent Andy Robertson center.

But the Spurs fought after the break and beat Lucas Moura after a quick reflection of Harry Kane.

Virgil van Dijk brilliantly defended a two-for-one pbad, while Moussa Sissoko gave the baton advantage.

Then, at the approach of stoppage time, a header from Mohamed Salah forced Hugo Lloris to make a mistake and led to a goal from Toby Alderweireld.

Anfield broke out and the team of Jurgen Klopp is now back at the top of the table. This is how Ian Doyle rated the players yesterday …

Alisson Becker 6

Let one of the first complaints escape him and have the chance to escape after a miscommunication with Milner. Rarely looked composed, but slightly better second half.

Trent Alexander-Arnold 8

Some excellent defense moments soothed Liverpool's nerves and were able to wander to the right. Hit the post with a corner and shoot a wide shot, and his cross from the left creates the winner.

Joel Matip 7

Sometimes a little uncomfortable under the high ball and subjected to a real test by Moura. Pretty solid on the defense.

Virgil van Dijk 9

The great Dutchman gave absolutely nothing to Kane, which seemed to him much easier than he really was. He missed a late opportunity, but his number on Sissoko was decisive.

Andy Robertson 8

Making the Most of Space Tottenham's training allowed him the first half and put in a brilliant cross for the opening scoring. Blocked some goal for Eriksen after the break.

Jordan Henderson 6

While playing a role in the opening match, the skipper was guilty of a loose pbad and conceded the missed free kick which Tottenham equalized. Substituted.

Gini Wijnaldum 6

As always, we have a lot of work, but most of it went unnoticed. Became the basis of a 4-2-3-1 in the last quarter.

James Milner 7

Thunder in a number of challenges and was still trying to advance Liverpool before getting tired a little. Substituted.

Mohamed Salah 7

Near an opening several times in the first half without threatening. Could have gone to Mane losing his chance after the break, but his potential was not matched until his head forced Lloris's blunder to win.

Roberto Firmino 7

Ghost between two defenders to give the head an excellent head for the first and did well to keep all these Tottenham defenders busy. Some clever pbades too.

Sadio Mane 7

A few inches from the goal with a curling shot and pressure on Eriksen, the crowd was up. Held apart, he was once again the most dangerous Liverpool striker.

Fabinho (for Milner 77)

That made a big difference by adding some control to the midfield and allowing Liverpool to take over the initiative.

Divock Origi (for Henderson 77)

His powerful race along the left led to a succession of turns where the winner arrived.

Dejan Lovren (for Salah 90 + 4)

I have to shake hands with his mate.
