Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp still hopes to complete the transfer of a player from his team before the end of the window.
The Reds have recruited young Dutchman Sepp van den Berg only last summer, while Klopp remains loyal to the team that won the Champions League last season.
A contract for young Fulham Harvey Elliott is also about to be finalized, but Klopp is still eager to present himself in a new face.
According to the Telegraph, Liverpool still hopes to sign a "versatile left-handed player" before closing the transfer window.
The Reds have no cover for Andy Robertson on the left back after Alberto Moreno left the club after his contract expired.
Real Betis's Junior Firpo was tied earlier this summer, but Liverpool does not seem to be interested.
Klopp would also like the new face to play further in the field, although the new signature is likely to have to be a fallback option.
Liverpool has won a lot of money with players like Fabinho and Alisson last summer and Klopp agrees that they are not doing the same thing this year.
"I can not say anything about what other teams are doing. I do not know how they do it. We invested money in this team. Now, it seems we are not. But we are not in this imaginary country where you get what you want.
"You can not do it all the time, it seems like there are four clubs in the world that can do it all the time – Madrid, Barcelona, Man City and PSG, whatever they need, they do it. You can not compare that.It is the situation.
"This is not a criticism. I know how people will take it, whether I'm jealous or whatever. I am not at all jealous. There will be average matches – but that does not mean we need different players.
"It just means that we need a team that is ready that day, and that's what we need to do, we need to make sure."
