Liverpool's thunderbolt should give Tottenham a boost in the title race

Liverpool will face Manchester United on Sunday afternoon in a match that will have huge consequences at the top of the Premier League standings.

The undefeated Red Devils in the league under interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaear, are looking for a win that will allow them to retain their lead of one point over Arsenal and Chelsea in the top four.

But for the Giants of Merseyside, it is to give a three-point lead over Manchester City and become the only leader in the league.

By the time the Reds kick off at Old Trafford, they could only have two points ahead of the third team in the Premier League race this season.

Tottenham Hotspur will be in action at Burnley early Saturday's game and his record-breaking road record suggests he'll get the desired result at Turf Moor.

Then it will be time for Mauricio Pochettino and Co. to sit down and hope that Man United can take points in Liverpool and that the latest news about Anfield's injuries suggests that this could very well happen.

Jurgen Klopp was recently hit by a defensive crisis. He was forced to badociate Fabinho and Joel Matip to the central defender against Bayern Munich in the first leg of the 16 home and away matches in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The good news for the German is that Virgil van Dijk will be available after missing the blank blackboard by suspension.

However, the bad news, which could prove to be a huge boost to the Spurs' title chances, is that Dejan Lovren will miss the match at the "Theater of Dreams". while he joins Joe Gomez on the sideline.

"There was not really any doubt, to be honest," said Klopp, quoted in the Manchester Evening News. "It was not serious, but Dejan had no chance to play today – in fact, I do not even think he's lucky for the next game."

"He will take his time.

"It was clear that Fabinho and Joel had to play tonight, so we coached him – we tried everything – and now, let's hope the boys are ready."
