President Akufo-Addo will appoint the captain of the North West Region
The presentation of the constitutional instrument for the creation of the North-West region is currently underway at the Jubilee House in Accra.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is expected to present constitutional instruments to legally support the establishment of six new regions of the country, which began yesterday with the Instrument for the Creation of the Northeast Region.
This follows the referendum of 27 December 2018, during which the inhabitants of the recruitment zones of the proposed new regions voted in favor of mbadive support for the creation of these regions.
The IC should name the selected capitals of the regions.
The new areas are Western North, Ahafo, Bono East, Oti, North East and Savannah.
The northeastern and savanna regions received their constitutional instruments on Tuesday, February 12, 2019.
The President is expected to present the ICs of the Bono East and Ahafo Regions today, Wednesday, February 13, 2019.
