SENSE OF BURNING
Nigel Winterburn has warned Arsenal flops they are not too good to fall.
The former Gunners left-back was part of a star-studded West Ham squad that was relegated in 2003.
And the two-time winner 1997-98 fears he can now follow his former Hammers team.
Speaking after the launch of the free fantasy football jackpot game Fantasy5, Winterburn said: “When I left Arsenal and went to West Ham in my last season, we had a fantastic squad – but we been relegated.
“But we couldn’t win a football game. You come out with all the right intentions, you can play well to start with, and you can’t score and build that confidence.
“All of a sudden you get an individual error or you get a player sent off and your back is against the wall, and you keep not winning the game.
“This is exactly what happened at West Ham for a long time. I see similar things happening at Arsenal.
“They have to get back to back wins, very, very quickly. It is not good to say “We are only 14 games, there is time”.
“You can see that the confidence is decreasing from this team.
“They’re shy, it’s almost like they’re waiting for something to happen to react, something against them rather than dictating the game.
“It’s very, very worrying because they don’t score a lot of goals. If Aubameyang doesn’t score, I don’t know who is.
