The Member for the Tamale North constituency, the Hon. Alhbadan Suhuyini, used the pretext of President Akufo Addo's decision to legislate to legitimize party vigilance.

He also described the proposed meeting between the NDC and the NPP on the issue of vigilantes as another claim, saying that this would not solve the problem.

According to the deputy, there are enough laws in the country that deal with such illegal groups and their activities and no law is needed to dissolve them.

Mr. Suhuyini said this at a public seminar organized in Accra by Cross-Fire Ghana in the conference room of the African University College of Communication, on the theme "Political vigilance and democratic governance in the Fourth Republic of Ghana". ".

He urged members of the public to put pressure on the NDC and NPP leaders to dissolve their groups or to pressure the police and the CID to enforce the laws whenever anyone is involved in these crimes. .

He also urged young people to cultivate the habit of seeking problems of national importance to enable them to challenge the system when things do not unfold as promised by the politician.

Crossfire Ghana coordinator Nana Osei Tutu urged the various political leaders to show greater commitment to the dissolution of militancy.

He revealed that the organization would continue to engage students at different levels to fight militancy before the 2020 general election.
