Apple's social network, Ping, is a bit of a lonely kid. The iTunes network launched in September attracted only 2,000 artists.
Twitter, on the other hand, is a prominent man on the social media campus. Some 95 million taunts, cries, heads-up and daydreams pbad through it every day – and much of this noise is about music.
So, Twitter has now "dressed up" Ping in the hope that it will become more popular.
Starting today, if you connect your Twitter account to Ping, you can share what's on your iPod or stereo with Ping activity, song previews, and links to buy and download music from the iTunes Store.
Apple's ping is gaining popularity, Twitter is joining the iTunes Store.
