MINEOLA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – If you do not hit the Powerball jackpot, you may need to keep your coupons.
That's what a thrifty buyer from Long Island has done for almost four decades.
Anatoly Shashkin of North Shore Farms in Mineola shared the photo of a 36-year-old coupon used by a customer this week.
The store had to honor the old discount because it did not have an expiry date.
This allowed the customer to save 20 cents on Crisco cooking oil.
A valuable lesson for savvy buyers: it's better (save) later than ever.
