The New York Islanders and Cablevision Systems Corp. (NYSE: CVC) today announced that Optimum Free Wi-Fi Wireless Internet Access is now available throughout the Nassau Coliseum. The network was designed and built to support thousands of concurrent users, making Nassau Coliseum the largest Optimum Wi-Fi hotspot on Long Island.
Getting connected while enjoying an Islanders game or a concert at the Nassau Coliseum has never been easier, with WiFi access available in the arena, lobby and concession areas. Visitors using WiFi-enabled portable devices such as smartphones can benefit from limited free access to Optimum WiFi, while Optimum Online customers benefit from unlimited access.

Once a customer logs into the service by entering their Optimum User ID and Password, the network offers speeds of up to 3.0 Mbps downstream and 1.5 Mbps upstream. Recently, Optimum WiFi added the “Auto Connect” feature which makes using the Optimum WiFi network easier than ever. Users can connect to Optimum WiFi only once, and their WiFi enabled device will automatically connect to the network at one of the thousands of locations where Optimum WiFi is available.
