Macao players protest against the far-fetched FA Cup 21-18 result

Hong Kong (AFP) – A surprising match against the decision to withdraw from a qualifying match for the World Cup in Sri Lanka was scored by 39 goals.

The match ended on a score of 21-18, a few days after the Chinese Football Association of the Chinese enclave decided to give up the second leg of the World Cup match, evoking fears for safety after the deadly suicide bombings in Sri Lanka.

The decision, while Macao led 1-0 in the first leg and envisioned a long run in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, left the players furious.

Intensifying their protests, the players of Ka I and Hang Sai evoked the farfetched score Sunday.

The match video shows players on both sides strolling on the field and scoring goals unchanged, and even a goalkeeper scoring on the scoresheet.

The players cheered when the other team scored.

Officials at Lin Fong Stadium seemed to lose the score with a display board at the end showing 21-17 but the official result was recorded as 21-18.

Hang Sai said it opened an investigation.
