Christophe Chalencon, one of the personalities of the movement that almost put the French president on his knees at the end of 2018, launched a scathing attack on Mr Macron two months before the European vote. Mr. Chalençon told the Italian daily Il Giornale: "Macron is a dictator. The European elections will be a referendum on him. Against him."
The member of Yellow Vest also warned the French president that they would meet during the vote, while Mr. Chalençon was preparing his own list, entitled "Evolution Citizen".
He said: "We already have more than 30 candidates, the list will be completed by the end of the month."
France will choose its MEPs on May 26.
Opinion polls gave Macron's party, La Republique en Marche !, advance over the past month, but also showed that Marine Le Pen's national rally was still nearby.

A survey conducted by the pollster Ifop-Fiducial, conducted from March 9 to 13 with 1,384 people, showed that the party of Mr. Macron was 24% and that of Ms. Le Pen to 21.5%.
However, Mr. Chalençon thinks that the electoral program of his movement will get votes from the two main parties.
He said: "You will see that as soon as they read our program, we will aim to finish in front of Macron.
"It would be our success.
"But we will not break the nose in third place, getting something like 15% of the vote."
The representative of Yellow Vest said that the pollsters gave Macron advance simply because they did not count French voters who did not want to vote at all, because they were too disappointed in politics.
He said: "The pollsters are all for the president, but the truth is that there are 50 to 60% of citizens who do not want to vote, and we will talk to them, those who do not feel represented by any party . "
Mr. Chalençon's program is similar to the Green New Deal manifesto launched in the United States by Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Mr Chalençon's program calls for an "urban evolution to fight against ecological globalization".
He explained, "If we fail to reverse the table of economic globalization in the next 30 years, humanity will be dead.
"We must stop producing and consuming in this way.
"In 30 years, 60% of insects will be extinct and if we do not invert it, we will soon be dead too".
Mr. Chalençon was criticized by the moderate wing of the Yellow Vest movement for being too reckless and taking too extreme positions.
But he rejected the criticism by saying, "Be careful, I am republican, otherwise I would not do it. I support a political solution.
