Some residents of Madina, Kwabenya and the surrounding area still travel long distances to access quality care.

The hospital was part of unfinished hospitals, captured in a petition submitted to the government by Citi FM and Occupy Ghana, demanding the commissioning of all newly built but abandoned health facilities.
The 1,000-bed KATH Maternity and Pediatric Block, which has been abandoned for more than 40 years, the Accra Police Hospital and KNUST University Hospital, are some of the abandoned projects described in the petition.
The two petitioners also called for a comprehensive emergency response system in Ghana, believing that the problems in question had "reached a critical point".
But until now, engineers and subcontractors on the site are actively working, according to Citi News audits.
The doors to the rooms had been fixed, air conditioners installed and a lawn planted.
Once completed, this hospital will serve the communities of Madina, Kwabenya, Adenta and beyond.
This will prevent residents of these areas from traveling long distances for treatment.
The hospital occupies 130,000 square meters of land.
Once completed, it should include an emergency and causal department, a blood bank, a delivery room, a physiotherapy unit, among others.
