Professor Kwesi Botchwey, Ghana's longest-serving finance minister, is expected to become the vice-presidential candidate of former president John Dramani Mahama in the 2020 elections, gathered Graphic Online.
It was realized that the name of Professor Botchwey had been chosen for appointment at a meeting today – August 19, 2019 – and that it would be announced later.
However, there are other competing interests.
There are other people who are pushing for the job and all of whom have sent their resumes for review.
Key names such as Dr. Kwabena Duffuor, Kwesi Ahwoi, Professor John Gatsi, Nii Okoi Dsane, Alex Mold are some of the names that have distinguished themselves for the position of Vice President.
But sources close to Mr. Mahama say that he [Mahama] was laid back as to who would become his companion in the race since he had already proceeded to the selection process of another at a time, in 2012 and 2015.
