Former President John Dramani Mahama said he was deeply touched by the overwhelming approval he had received from members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) base.
In a victory speech Sunday morning after his victory, 95.23 percent approval to conduct the NDC at Election 2020, m Mahama said it was "a call to duty and to action".
"Our party has spoken with one voice and I must say that we are all winners," he said.

"I am deeply touched by the enthusiastic support I have received from our citizens Party."Said shortly after the Electoral Commission announced the official results at the NDC headquarters in Adabraka in Accra.
m Mahama thanked his fellow candidates for the fight they conducted at the presidential primary and said they had helped to under pressure "The basis of our party, their participation in this contest has shown that our party is the most democratic, the most transparent and the most dynamic democracy in Ghana."
m Mahama dedicated the victory to the party base and said that "the party has spoken with one voice".
The certified results of the Electoral Commission indicate that former president John Dramani Mahama got 95.23 percent approval, to lead the National Democratic Congress (NEC) as the flag bearer of the 2020 elections.
m Mahama received 213,487 votes, representing 95.23% of the total valid votes cast. The other six candidates received around 4% of the vote.
Professor Joshua Alabi was in second place with a total of 3404 votes, or 1.52 percent.
The second vice-president of Parliament, m Alban S.K. Bagbin followed in third position with a total of 2301 votes representing 1.03 percent.
Goosie Tanoh finished fourth with a total of 2091 votes representing 0.93 percent.
m Ekwow Spio Garbrah finished fifth with 1447 votes representing 0.65 percent against 934 votes of Sylvester Mensah in sixth position, or 0.42%.
Alhaji Nurudeen Alhbadan is in seventh place with 520 votes or 0.23. percent.
