Thirteen days after political violence has drawn national attention, former President Mahama wants the incident to capture the attention of the international community.
He invited diplomats to an interaction during which videos and images of the violence of January 31, 2019 showed that the Akufo-Addo government presided over national insecurity.
Alongside National President Samuel Ofosu Ampofo and Secretary General of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the Deputy Minority Leader, James Avedzi, a former National Security Minister, Kofi Totobi Quakyi, and members of High ranking NDC President Mahama of the opinion that the actions of the group of justices – which he said were under the instructions of the presidency – were criminal and should be prosecuted.
The meeting retraced the story of the NPP's introduction of vigilante groups, their training and the dangerous decision to arm the thugs and clothe them as alleged national security agents.
Diplomats watched many videos of barbaric attacks, armed violence, unrestrained confessions of responsibility of a state minister to the presidency, Bryan Acheampong, as well as videos of previous outings of groups of Self-defense, Delta and Invincible Forces aligned with nuclear power plants.
