The unrest in Techiman South constituency resulted in the deaths of two people – Abdallah Ayaric and Tajudeen Alhassan.

Four people were also injured to varying degrees after the military reportedly fired warning shots at the constituency assembly center in the early hours of Tuesday, December 8.

In addition to visiting bereaved families to empathize with them, the former president will also visit the injured when they are admitted to hospital.

Meanwhile, former President and National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama has rejected the 2020 election results.

Speaking for the first time after the EC statement, Mahama said without saying anything that he would not accept the EC results. According to the presidential candidate of the NDC, the results declared by the EC are “imperfect and discredited”.

Mahama went on to say that Jean Mensa’s declaration of results was a gross violation of the law because it did not follow the rules established for the conduct of elections.
