President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo
President Akufo-Addo lamented the country's poor road network.
According to the President, his work trip to the country has highlighted the need for the government to invest heavily in the country's road sector.
He said the situation was contrary to the optimistic view of former President Mahama, who boasted of an unprecedented road infrastructure under his watch.
President Akufo-Addo said that "the so-called unprecedented projects only exist in their green paper".
He called on President Mahama to show Ghanaians where his unprecedented road infrastructure is.
He also said that the country's schools will experience infrastructure development to support teaching and learning.
High schools, he said, will benefit enormously from the project in order to cope with the increasing enrollment rate due to the free high school program.
He explained that the government had been able to mobilize $ 1.5 million for the Ghana Education Fund (GetFund) to support the development of infrastructure in schools.
The president was speaking in Assin Jakai, in the central region, where chiefs had begged him to work on the bad roads and bad schools in the region.
