The star of "Game of Thrones", Maisie Williams, is now part of the thriller "The Owners", directed in the 1990s and directed by Julius Berg after a script by Berg and Matthieu Gompel.
"The Owners" is based on a comic book by the artist Herrmann and written by Yves H. The film is produced by Alain de la Mata for the British company Bluelight and is produced by XYZ Films, which will handle sales in North America with Versatile International Handling at the European Film Market at the Berlin Film Festival.
The film will be shot this spring in Kent, near London, in an isolated Victorian mansion. The story takes place in a rural England with two friends – broke and on the job at age 20 – prompted by a sociopath of the city to strip the old local doctor and his wife. Williams will play the girlfriend of one of the authors who strongly opposes this plan, resulting in a deadly game to the cat and the mouse, leaving the Williams character to fight to save himself from a nightmare she would never have imagined.
Williams is best known for her role as Arya Stark in HBO's Game of Thrones, whose eighth season will be in April. She appeared in "Early Man" with Tom Hiddleston and Eddie Redmayne and will later be seen in Marvel's "X Men: The New Mutants" alongside Anya Taylor-Joy and Charlie Heaton.
"The Owners" is Berg's first full-length feature, having made credits for Netflix's "The Forest" series and France Télévisions "The Crimson Rivers" series. Williams is replaced by Louise Johnston Management (UK) and WME.
