Man accused of burning a patient in a residential care facility

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – A man from Kansas City, Missouri is facing three counts of first degree badault, second degree badault on a special victim and elder abuse.

Jackson County prosecutors on Thursday accused 29-year-old Joshua Reedus of crimes against a 70-year-old man with multiple disabilities and taken into care in a residential care facility.

Police were informed of the incident on May 2, 2019, after the man was admitted to a local hospital with burns to the burn at the bad area.

Prosecutors allege that the burns occurred while the man was in Reedus custody.

Reedus was arrested on May 28, where he refused to be interrogated by detectives.

He is still in custody at the Jackson County Detention Center.
