SANDY SPRINGS, Georgia – Sandy Springs Police said they made an arrest after a gas station clerk was shot dead in a robbery.

The shooting took place around 11 p.m. on September 21 at a Texaco gas station in the 8300 block of Roswell Road.

Investigators announced Thursday that Gabriyel M. Ealy, 22, had been taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault and battery, aggravated assault, theft and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony .

“Hours after the investigation began, Sandy Springs detectives were able to identify the suspect and immediately set up an operation to apprehend him. After obtaining arrest and search warrants, several specialized units of the SSPD as well as the North-Metro SWAT located and arrested the suspect at his residence in Sandy Springs without further incident, ”police said in a press release. .

Ealy remains in the Fulton County Jail.
