Manchester City are not happy with the EFL, which made them play two games in just 24 hours.
The EFL has asked City to compete in the Checkatrade against Sunderland on Tuesday – the day before the showdown with Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
The city claims that EFL has rejected all its suggestions for alternative dates for the Checkatrade tie in order to avoid playing consecutive matches.
The boss, Pep Guardiola, wanted to use as many players as possible from his under-23 elite development team in both matches, as the return against Burton is a kid's game.
He is concerned about the lack of meaningful games for his EDS and believes that the Checkatrade trophy is a valuable opportunity for them to gain valuable experience.
He believes he has no choice but to give priority to the Carabao Cup tie and that the Blues are unhappy with the intransigence of the EFL.
They heard EFL's call to participate in the competition as large clubs still refuse to participate.
Guardiola also respected the Carabao Cup by offering strong teams to defend his trophy.
Yet, they feel penalized by the EFL for attempting to treat both competitions seriously.
