Ilkay Gundogan thinks Liverpool have been "very lucky" in their Premier League league push.

Liverpool have a two-point lead over Manchester City ahead of a double-goal Sunday against the Reds against Chelsea and the Sky Blues against Crystal Palace.

City, who will play against the Reds, hopes that Liverpool will lose points against Chelsea, while Palace aims to complete the double against the defending champions.

Gundogan has played a pivotal role in City's impressive campaign this season, but believes his closest rivals have taken their chances in recent games.

"Liverpool is desperate to be a champion," he told Fanatik. "They want to win the Premier League more than the Champions League.

"But everything is in our hands. I think we played the best football. We were seven points behind and then we went ahead.

"If we win our game, we will overcome them and be the leaders. We should not forget it.

"I think they've been very lucky in the last two months. They have recently scored a lot of goals.

"Everything is in our hands. If we win the last six games, we will be champions. "
