Manchester City could beat the world record of transfers for a defender by bringing a star of Inter Milan into the Premier League this summer, according to reported information.
Milan Skriniar has emerged as one of the best defenders of Serie A in the last two seasons. AS, Man City are ready to pay 100 million euros to land at the international Slovak.
Skriniar is under contract with Inter until 2022, but negotiations around a new agreement are blocked. A nine-figure sum could prove too heavy for the Italian giants.
They resisted the keen interest for the Manchester United player last summer., but they may be tempted to withdraw when the transfer market reopens.
However, City would face competition from Real Madrid, who prepares emergency plans in the event of Raphaël Varane's departure.
