Michael Mills pled guilty to a charge of defilement and was sentenced to imprisonment by a court
The Accra Court of Appeal sentenced a Chorkor resident in Accra to a seven-year suspended sentence for sodomizing a 13-year-old boy.
Michael Mills pleaded guilty to defilement and was sentenced to imprisonment by the court, chaired by Ruby Naa Akweley Quaison, for his own cause.
The court's sentence was also the result of a call for mediation by Mills' lawyer Opare Danso, who pleaded with the court to temper the justice with leniency, as his client was a first offender.
Victim of Camps Mills
According to the facts of the case presented by Sergeant Opoku Amiagyei, the case was reported to the police by the father of the 13-year-old boy.
According to him, on September 27, 2018, the boy would have left the house, but would never have returned until the next day at 8 o'clock.
The boy's father asked him where he had gone and the boy revealed that he had been camped by Mills.
"He revealed to have spent the night in the room of the person of Mills and that Mills had bad intercourse with him," said the father, quoted by the police.
The boy further stated that Mills had been his badual partner for some time and that he (Mills) had warned him not to reveal his ordeal to anyone, otherwise he would die, "said the prosecutor.
According to Sergeant Amiagyei, the boy's parents confronted Mills, but he denied all allegations and hid.
The parents then reported the case to the police, which led to the arrest of Mills.
